The love of a pokemon trainer

the following story is taking place in the sinnoh region. this is an Ash and Misty love story so you don't like them together or don't like pokemon in general please don't leave rude comments.


We join our heroes Ash ,Dawn and Brock travelling together through a forest where the trees are so dense that they block the sun's light out completly. The only reason they decide to take this creepy path filled with nocturnal pokemon that are active during the day was due to Ash finding out it was a short cut to the next city where Ash would compete for his next badge. Dawn was falling behind as she held her arms and was shaking with fear as she nervously looked from one side to the other whenever she heard something moving.

" C-can we p-please get out this forest now ? T-t-t-this place gives me the creeps!" she exclaimed with a tremble in her voice.

"No way!" Ash said with with excitiment " I want to get to the next city as quick as I possibly can to get my next badge!" with Ash saying that a fire of determination burned brightly in his eyes

. Brock looked back at Dawn " You know how Ash gets when it comes to earning badges." Brock chuckled lightly.

"B-but do we HAVE to be going through this c-c-creepy forest?!" Dawn said with a few tears of fear in eyes. A shriek came from a rather large and old tree that Dawn happened to be walking right by causing Dawn to scream with fear and caused Dawn to start crying some

. " I can't take this forest anymore!" Dawn shouted and started to run as fast as she could through the trees and without realizing it she tripped over a up rooted tree root and fell flat on her face. Ash and Brock rushed over to Dawn and helped her get up

" Are you alright Dawn?" Ash asked her with concern in his voice.

" Yeah I will be fine..." Dawn said with her eyes closed and holding her forehead. Brock looked over her face a bit to make sure there was no serious injuries.

" You will be alright. Might get a small bump from the fall but that is about it." Brock smiled at her.

" Great... Now can we please get out this forest!" Dawn said angered a bit about the fact they had to walk through this forest. Ash looked around and saw a clear spot up ahead with a rather large sparkling lake.

" Let's go over there it seems to be a nice spot to take a rest." Ash said while pointing towards the lake.

Once they reached the lake they felt the gentle warm embrace that the sun could offer only a perfect day. Dawn stretched and smiled

" Who would have known that there would be such a beautiful lake in the middle of a forest like this. The water looks so pure and clean." Dawn said as she looked at the lake. The lake was so clean you could see the bottom of it even in the deepest parts of the lake. When the sun hit it just right the lake shined like it was made of diamonds. They all took off their bags and sat on the ground looking around.

" You know, the forest is not so bad when not surrounded by nothing but the trees." Dawn said feeling much more relaxed then she did a few moments ago.

" Agreed." Ash said as he let out a sigh of relaxtion as he laid down on his back. Pikachu laid on top of Ash chest and curled into a ball and went to sleep.

" I am going to make some lunch now since it seems like the perfect spot to do so" Brock said starting to pull out the ingreidents out of his bag.

" Sounds good to me!" Dawn exclaimed as her stomach rumbled in hunger.

-About 10 minutes pass-

Brock was stirring the soup he decided to make for lunch. Dawn was training with Piplup for their next contest. Ash and Pikachu had dozed off into a deep sleep. Everything was peaceful till a noise in the distantence caught pikachu's attention. Upon hearing the noise Pikachu's ears twitched some then perked straight up into the air as he woke up and looking in the direction he heard movement coming from. A bush not far from Ash and Pikachu started to rustle some. In natural defense Pikachu's electric sac's on his face started to give off light volts just to show he was ready to attack any threat that came through that bush. Brock and Dawn looked over to bush that was rustling but Ash was still deep in sleep unaware of the possible threat that was coming. All of a sudden a small blue figure jumped out of the bush at Ash and Pikachu. Pikachu being the quick mouse type pokemon he was dodge out the way before the figure hit him but Ash was not so fortunate. When the blue figure landed ontop of Ash he woke up shocked and a tad afraid.

" What the heck was that about?! " Then Ash looked at the blue figure to see it was the baby form of Marill, Azurill. " What the ? An Azurill? " Ash was kinda stunned not sure why the Azurill did that. The Azurill started to nuzzle Ash like it knew him.

"Oh wow! What a little cutie!" Dawn exclaimed in complete awe of how cute the Azurill was. With that Dawn grabbed her pokedex and looked up what pokemon it was.

" Azurill ,the polka dot pokemon, Azurill's tail is large and bouncy. It is packed full of the nutrients this pokemon needs to grow. Azurill can be seen bouncing and playing on its big, rubbery tail. " The pokedex said giving information about the pokemon.

" It is just adorable!" Dawn still in complete awe of how cute the Azurill was. Ash looked at the Azurill and then at Brock " It's like this Azurill knows me. " Ash started thinking of all the people he knew that had an Azurill and one person came to his mind.

" It can't be...." Ash said with disbelief in his voice. " Oh yes it can Ash Ketchum. " A famaliar female voice coming from behind him. Ash looked up from his laying down postion then sat up and turned towards the person talking to him. It was Misty from Cerulean city of the Kanto region.

"Misty!" Ash exclaimed as he put Azurill down to the side and got up quickly and gave Misty a hug. Misty blushed lightly from  the sudden hug but then smiled and hugged him back.

" Good to see you too Ash." Misty said in a very peaceful tone. Ash pulled away from Misty and smiled at her. Brock cleared his throat to get their attention

" Hope I am not interrupting anything you two love birds but lunch will be ready soon." Brock said teasingly. " We are not love birds!" Ash and Misty said in unison. They paused and blushed as they glanced at each other realizing they both spoke at the same time saying the same thing . Brock chuckled lightly.

"Misty there is plenty to eat so join us for some lunch." Brock said fixing the bowls of food and setting one bowl in front of each chair.

Misty nodded with a smile on her face " That sounds great! I have not had your cooking for a while. " she said walking over to the table and sitting down at a chair. As she was sitting down Ash not paying heed to where Misty was sitting she sat right next to her. Ash smelled the aroma the coming from the soup.

" Smells good Brock like always. " Ash said with a hungry tone of voice. Misty realizing how close Ash's voice she looked to the side. When she noticed Ash was sitting right next to her she screamed and fell out of her chair with her face beet red. Ash looked over at Misty on the ground her face still beet red.

" Hey Misty are you alright ? Your face is red." Ash asked out of concern as he got out of his seat to offer her a hand back up. Misty blushed more from his act of concern for her but turned her head the other way with her eyes closed as she swatted his hand away.

" I am just fine." Trying to keep herself from blushing anymore as she stood up and got into her chair and sat down. As best she was trying though she was still blushing as she ate her soup. Ash pondered as to why she was so upset with him even with the fact he offered to help her. The more he thought about he came across the thought of why misty had to stay in kanto in the first place.

" Misty how come you are all the way out here in sinnoh region? I thought you had to watch over the gym for your sisters." Ash curious to know the answer.

" Oh my sisters came back from their vacation. They want me to stay as gym leader but I wasn't completly sure if I wanted to. I like being the gym leader it's just I miss you guys. My sisters though decided to let me have two weeks to decide on what i want to do. " Misty answered Ash's question.

" So you going to be hanging out with us for the next two weeks?!" Ash asked excited about the thought of Misty being with them again.

Misty turned to Ash and smiled "Yes like I said I missed you guys." Misty said in a calm yet happy voice. 'And I missed you the most Ash' thought Misty to herself blushing lightly.

"Alright! The old gang is back together! Yeah!" Ash cheered with excitement. Misty giggled as she watched Ash acting so excited about her being back. 'Glad to know he missed me as well' Misty thought as she giggled more and gave a small blush. As Ash was cheering about the fact the orginal group was back together for the next two weeks another question came to mind.

" Hey Misty there is one other thing I am curious about. How did you know where to find us? " Ash asked.

" I talked to Professor Oak and see if he could help me find you. Since he was not sure he called Professor Rowen and see if he had seen you any time recently. To our luck he did and said you were headed for your next gym. I asked Professor Rowen if he knew the route that you take to get to the next city. Knowing how you are though I also asked if there were any actual short cuts to it. He pointed out this forest and said that it was the only actual shortcut there was around this area but was very dangerous. Knowing how you are once again I figured you went through this forest and here I am. Only thing I have to do is let my sisters know that I found you all cause that is when the 2 weeks peroid starts. " Misty smiled and gave a small wink. Ash was a bit dumbfounded as to how much Misty went through just  to find them.

" Well lucky for us you seem to know me so well. " Ash laughed and rubbing the back of his head kinda embrassed. Misty perked an eyebrow at the word seem and closed her eyes and sighed.

" Seem? " Misty laughed a bit at the word " Ash Ketchum you are so predictable that I can read you like a book. " Misty said confidently with her head held high and shoulders back and looking at with one eye with the other one closed. Ash fell over in embrassment and due to the fact he forgot she was good at reading him.

" Ok ok so not seem but you do know me really well. " Ash blushed in embrassment and rubbed the back of his head. Misty giggled lightly after Ash admitted how well she knew him. Dawn just watched the two kinda wide eyed and looked at Brock smiling at the two of them. Dawn leaned over to Brock.

" Is it just me or does it seem kinda obvious there is something going on between those two? " Dawn whispered into Brock's ear. Brock looked at her and smiled.

" Yeah it does seem that way but those two never been willing to admit it to each other but with how much time has passed perhaps they would be more willing now." Brock whispered into Dawn's ear. Dawn looked at Brock then back at Ash and Misty.

" You have to also figure Dawn." Brock said looking at Ash and Misty. Having caught Dawn's attention she looked at Brock. " Those two were travelling together before they even met me. They have been through alot together. " Dawn looked back at Ash and Misty and gave a small smile. Pikachu came over to Misty and climbed into her lap with a smile on his face. Misty smiled down at Pikachu and rubbed his head lightly.

" Pika." Pikachu content sound in his voice. Ash smiled at Pikachu and Misty then turned back to eating the rest of his soup. Once finished with his soup he got up out his seat and stretched.

" The food was good as always Brock. I really do wonder what we ever would do with out you sometimes. " Ash said with a smile on his face looking at Brock.

" Well my reward comes with all the time we have been together and having seen some the wonderful things we have seen on our journey. " Brock finished his soup as well and picked up his bowl and placed it on the small pile that was made already. " Don't forget to do the dishes later guys. " Brock reminded Ash and Dawn. Dawn and Ash nodded to acknowledge they heard him.

-about 10 minutes passed and all the dishes were cleaned-

Ash looked at the lake and wondered " You know with how clean this lake is it makes you wonder if suicune has purified this lake." Dawn looked over at Ash curious about the pokemon he mentioned.

" Suicune? " Not knowing who that was she asked in a curious tone. Ash looked over at Dawn.

" Suicune is a legendary pokemon that Misty , Brock and I have met on our journey. It is known for being able to purify bodies of water. Mostly lakes and so on.

" Wow you guys are sure lucky to have met a legendary pokemon! " Dawn took out her pokedex to find the picture of Suicune. " Suicune is such a pretty pokemon that is for sure. " Dawn said after seeing it's picture. Ash nodded in agreement.

" You know lets just stay here for tonight. This is such a nice spot and lets just relax for today in the occasion of Misty being back with us for the next two weeks. " Brock said as suggustion. Ash and Dawn both nodded in agreement

" That's fine with me, this is a beautiful spot anyways. " Dawn said. Brock turned to Ash.

" Hey Ash would you mind getting some fire wood for tonight ? It would probably be best if you did now while the sun is out since the forest is dark all day and probably dangerous during the night. " Brock said taking a look around into the forest.

" Alright Brock I will get some firewood. " With that he started to head into the forest.

" Wait for me I will help you out as well! " Misty said running over to Ash to give him some help. Ash smiled at her

" Alright the help would be much apperciated. " Ash said as he walked into the forest with Misty.

Ash and Misty looked around on the ground checking for a good collection of sticks and twigs that had dried out. Once they found a good spot they started to collect some twigs and sticks. Ash and Misty went to pick up the same stick. Misty grabbed it first and Ash put his hand ontop of her's. They looked at each other and retracted their hands quickly as they blushed.

" Sorry!" Both them said in unison with nervous tones. Both their faces a bright red color. Both them turned in two different directions and picked up the sticks as quick as they could while faces still red with embrassment. Both them started to walk back to camp with the fire wood in hand and both them blushing a bright red. When they got back to camp they were still blushing but they managed to make it to where it was not as noticable. Brock and Dawn looked over to Misty and Ash as they returned with the firewood. Brock looked at both them and noticed their faces were both red. Brock grinned a little knowing something happened between the two.

" Did you two have fun gathering the firewood? " He said in a tone that he knew something. Ash and  Misty stopped dead in their tracks and blushed just as bright red as they did when they touched each others hand's. Brock grinned more seeing how they blushed more now. Dawn just looked at Ash and Misty then at Brock kinda lost. Ash and Misty kept silent long enough to put down the firewood.

" I-it was only getting some fire wood Brock how is t-t-that fun?! " Ash said completly embrassed now. Misty looked at Brock  angry.

" Are you implying something happened while we were getting firewood?! " Misty yelled. Brock took cover but could not help but laugh at this point.

" Oh come on Misty I am only messin with you! " Brock kept laughing but knew better to come out from cover while Misty was mad.

- Later that night-

Everyone was sitting around the camp fire. Ash , Brock and Misty were all talking about some there past adventures.

" How about that time prevented the volcano being destoried due to Team Rocket's stupidity in trying capture Blaine's magmar. " Misty said

" How could I forget that one ? " Ash thought about that day. " It was due to that incident Charizard listened to me and i got my badge from the Cinnabar Island gym. "

" How about that time that one girl liked Brock and was talking about marrying him ? " Misty grinned and looked at Brock. Brock fell to his back in embrassment. Ash Dawn and Misty all laughed at Brock's reaction.

" Some one actually wanted to marry Brock ? " Dawn laughed just at the thought how it played out.

" You should have seen him. He was in a daze most the time we were around her. Just like a zombie. " Misty giggled. Brock just sighed at hearing about this story and everyone laughing at him. After laughing for a bit everything got quiet as they all looked to the sky with a smile on their faces.

" We all have been through alot together. Whether it be Misty or Dawn apart of the group. " Ash said enjoying the night sky. They all nodded in agreement.

" It was definetly not easy on me to leave you guys. " Misty said in sad tone. Her eyes starting to glisten from forming tears in her eyes. " My sister's can be so thoughtless sometimes. " A tear rolled down Misty's cheek. Ash looked over at her and wiped it away.

" Please don't cry Misty. " Ash said in soft caring voice. Misty blushed lightly looking over at Ash and hugged him without even thinking about the fact Brock and Dawn were there still. Brock and Dawn looked over at Ash and Misty and gave a small smile.

" Aw isn't that cute ? " Brock said teasing them a bit. Misty was brought back to reality and pulled away from Ash quickly with a blush on her face.

" N-n-no! This isn't what you think Brock! " Misty said waving her hands from side to side in an act of denial. Brock just grinned knowing that her denial was proving him right. He just shook his head side to side and looked at Misty.

" Oh come on Misty just admit it already. We have known each other for couple years now. I have watched you two since we started to travel together. It is obvious you love Ash. " Brock being straight forward with her. Misty was a bright red in blushing at this point. She stood up and walked over to Brock and smacked him down onto his back. She stormed back to her spot and sat down still bright red in the face. Ash and Dawn both just stayed silent as they both did not want to get hurt like Brock just did. After hearing that though it got Ash thinking about it. He looked at Misty then to the sky. That old famaliar feeling Ash had so long ago back in Kanto and Johto started to creep up. Ash wondered if he had fallen in love with Misty. He looked over at Misty again but this time he did not turn his head to sky but kept staring at her. He paid much more attention to her eyes then he had ever before. Watching how her eyes glittered like ocean blue sapphires. Ash blushed as he was just in awe of how beautiful her skin looked under the night sky and camp fire lighting. He then turned his attention to her red hair as it was blown lightly by the wind. Watching her hair he could have swore it looked like it was the gentle fire kindling that was right before the group. Ash staring at Misty caught her eye and she looked over at him. Ash realized she knew he was staring at her. Embrassed at the fact he was caught he turned his head back to the night sky blushing a bright red. Misty looked a little confused at first but noticed he was blushing. She smiled and giggled at the fact he was blushing then she turned her attention back to the night sky. After a little while, Ash stood up and headed for the forest . Misty, Dawn and Brock all looked his direction curious as to why he was heading into the forest at night. Ash must have walked a good ten minutes before he finally stopped and found a fallen tree to sit on. He looked to sky and to his surprise there was a small opening in the trees. The opening was enough to see the moon and stars all shining brightly. He had been thinking to himself all these feelings he had that have been welling up inside.

" Why? Why are these feeling building up inside me ? Is there something wrong with me? " Ash frustrated and not sure about these feelings he had. He buried his face in his hands unsure what to do or think anymore. He was not sure how long he sat there alone in the forest his face buried in his hands. He had become unaware of everything around him , lost in his thoughts, until he heard foot steps heading his direction. He looked up and turned to the direction the sound was coming from. He saw it was Misty walking his direction. He looked confused as to why she was following him.

" Misty? What are you doing out here in the middle of the forest? " Ash stood up from where he was sitting and faced his body towards her. Before he got an answer Misty came up to him and planted a tender kiss on the lips. Ash was completly caught off guard by her actions but he did not stop her. Instead he lightly wrapped his arms around her and drew her close to himself, tenderly rubbing her back as he held the kiss with her. As unsure he was about himself about his feeling for Misty , he knew this felt completly right. That the only person he could see himself sharing this moment was with her and no one else. The moon light shined brightly down on the spot where  they kissed. A gentle breeze blew and leaves circled around them as they kissed, as if the elements themselves were saying that they were meant to be together like this. When they finally pulled their lips away from each others Misty just stared dreamly into Ash's eyes and stroked his cheek lightly with her hand.

" I have always wanted to do that Ash" She said gently. " While I was back home in cerulean gym I realized what my feelings for you meant. I knew that I was in love with you. Something inside kept me from wanting to even consider looking to be with anyone else. When I realized what that something was I knew right then I was in love with you Ash Ketchum. The only reason I did not come to find you sooner was due to the fact I had to watch over the gym till my sisters got back from their trip. I waited patiently to finally be back with you and to be in your arms. " She said gently, closing her eyes as she laid her head against his chest. Ash smiled looking down at Misty ;however in his own mind he still was not sure if these feelings for Misty were really love. When he thought of that he sighed lightly and moved her to look at him. Misty looked at Ash, slightly confused about why he moved her.

" Misty I do know this for a fact. I really do like you, however I am still not sure if it is love. I want to say I love you back but I can't, not yet at least. You have to understand Misty though there are alot of emotions going through me at one time. Just please give me more time to figure out what these emotions are." Ash wanted to smile to comfort her but he couldn't bring himself to do  it. He knew that he disappointed her to some degree and he was really sorry to do that to her. Ash though was still uncertain what to feel completly for her. Misty just smiled and kissed him lightly on the lips.

" Take all time you need Ash. I would have it no other way. I don't want you saying it just because I said I love you. I want you to say it and mean it. " She did feel a little disappointed about him not being able to know whether he loved her or not yet. However she was glad about the fact he was so willing to be truthful about his feelings and not give into pressure to say those three words just because she said them. Ash smiled at her but then wondered something.

" Hey why did you now just decide to kiss me and not ealier? It kinda seems a little odd really. " Ash pointed out. Misty giggled lightly then stroked his cheek again.

" I noticed that you were blushing ealier while starring at me. It was then I was certain that you liked me more then you allow to be let on. With knowing that I wanted to tell you how I felt to you and you alone. I do love you but I was not sure how you felt so until I knew from you what you were feeling I did not want to bring it out for everyone to know. " She stroked his cheek one last time and smiled then went back to laying her head on his chest lightly. Ash smiled down at her and nudged her lightly to have her move with him. They sat on the tree that Ash was sitting on ealier. Ash looked down at Misty and smiled then turned his attention to the stars and how they were shining so brightly. As Ash looked closely he thought some the stars were moving but then he looked around him to see that fireflies had come out and lit up the forest around them. Misty and Ash looked on in awe of  the fireflies.

" They are so beautiful. " Misty said softly with a dreamy look in her eyes. Ash looked to Misty as she watched the fireflies. He noticed how they made her eyes glitter like sapphires under the right lighting. He turned her face slowly towards his and moved his face closer to hers. They both closed their eyes and kissed each other gently and held the kiss with each other. The longer they held the kiss the more sensual the kiss became. They pressed their bodies againist each others , holding themselves as close they could together. To them they still did not feel close enough together. ' I want to remain like this with you forever Ash, being together, holding each other, showing my love for you.' Misty thought to herself as she caressed his back tenderly, running her fingers in a circular massasing movement. When they broke the kiss Misty kept her eyes closed and laid her head on Ash's shoulder and sighed contently.

" I am so glad to know that I have you like this Ash. " She wrapped her arms around him a little tighter as she spoke with content in her voice.

" I am glad as well Misty to know I have you. " Ash said keeping her close to himself and laying his head lightly on her shoulder and rubbing her back.
